TRUEVOICE®

In 2025, more than 500,000 Americans seeking gender-affirming care have had their treatment disrupted, either in part or altogether.
...
That includes more than 120,000 trans youth, who are by some estimates ten times more likely than their peers to experience homelessness, and four times more likely to experience violence and to attempt suicide. [thetrevorproject.org, schoolhouseconnection.org, hrc.org]
...
But you can help them regain access to the care they need.
As of November 2025, TrueVoice Vocal Development,
with the help of our friends at NMI (a 501(c)3 organization with whom we have collaborated for many years), is now equipped to accept tax-deductible donations to continue to provide gender-affirming care to those who have had their care plans reduced or terminated by funding cuts enacted by the Trump administration and its allies. These cuts are intentional and seek to disadvantage and wound the trans and gender-diverse communities and the people who love them, and unfortunately are already in effect to some degree in every state in the country.
Gender-affirming voicework is care that establishes confidence, safety, and self-actualization for those undergoing gender transition. It is non-invasive, non-surgical, and non-clinical, and as such is outside the jurisdiction of legislation in states that have banned other forms of gender-affirming care.
Recipients of gender-affirming voice training experience improvements in their interpersonal conditions, employment prospects, self-esteem, and day-to-day safety.
Gina Bigham, the Program Manager for Trans*Lounge at the LA LGBT Center has called the TrueVoice curriculum developed for her organization “one of the most impactful classes I have ever seen for the trans and non-binary communities.”
...
If you are interested in using your would-be tax dollars to stand up to the hateful actions of this administration, please consider a fully tax-deductible donation.
Every donation makes an impact.
These examples come from previously funded and completed projects, with partnerships or sources in those projects listed.
Other donation guidelines for services include:
•Group remote access seminar for up to 20 young people : ..........$500
•In-person two-week workshop for CHLA trans youth recently disconnected from gender-affirming care: ..........$1200
•In-person workshop on location for 16 people including three weeks of individual sessions: .........$5250
•In-person workshop on location for 30 people including three weeks of individual sessions: .........$9750
Community support is resistance. The only way through is together.
Please consider demonstrating your support for gender-affirming care, and sharing this information with others who may be looking for ways to support as well throughout the season of giving and beyond.
